JCMED was established under the guidance of SIAT in 2013. The core technical team is mainly from SIAT and the CUHK. There are two major technology platforms has cooperated to established：Shenzhen Engineering Laboratory for Medical Bioactive Materials and Guangdong Engineering Technology Research Center for Medical Bioactive Materials. The company is a national high-tech enterprise, which is based on the development and production of orthopedics, neurosurgery and stomatology products, and integrate development, clinical, registration and listing.

There is conducted independent research on magnesium-containing biodegradable polymer bone repair materials In the past decade. At present, the project has obtained the special approval of the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) on innovative medical devices. At present, the product is undergoing multi-center clinical trials in 8 large research hospitals in China, and the project is expected to be approved for registration in 2023. The meflouro sodium fluoride anti-caries coating independently developed by the company is the first registered fluoride anti-caries product in Guangdong Province. The product is being used in clinical trials in 8 research hospitals in China. And the project is expected to be approved for registration in 2023. In addition, the self-developed Meflurol sodium fluoride anti-caries coating agent by the company is the first registered fluoride anti-caries product in Guangdong Province.

The company has participated in more than ten national, provincial and municipal key research projects, which has won awards like the first prize of the 2020 China (Shenzhen) Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and the Shenzhen Technological Invention.
