2017 China's Medium-to-Long Term Plan for the Prevention and Treatment of Chronic Diseases (2017-2025) Clearly states that chronic diseases include oral diseases. Proposes: Strengthen oral healthcare and health behavior education in kindergartens, primary, and secondary schools nationwide; implement personalized interventions for children and the elderly; increase efforts in addressing common oral diseases; establish oral health prevention and control plans to enhance chronic disease management, including oral health.

Promote collaboration between health and education departments to implement oral health checkups, pit and fissure sealants, and topical fluoride application as intervention models for oral diseases in children.
